One-day surgery | Canadian Medical

One-day surgery

One-day surgery (same day surgery) allows for the patient to spend post-surgery recovery at his/her home environment and with close ones, therefore speeding up overall recovery and the return to a normal life. Many diseases can be treated in this one-day manner (one-day care), therefore avoiding the need for extended hospitalization. Following local or general anesthesia, the patient can leave the surgery almost immediately or after resting shortly to continue with follow-up treatment at home. Medical fields which make use of this method of surgery include general surgery, paediatric surgery, urology, gynaecology, orthopedics and many others.

Our workplace has contracts with all health insurance companies. This means that surgical care is available to all clients who have Czech health insurance. Additionally, we also accept patients who have foreign health insurance on the basis of direct billing. Before undergoing a procedure, it is necessary to arrange a consultation at Canadian Medical.

How to make an appointment

If the client is interested in a non-urgent procedure, the first step is to schedule a consultation with a doctor who will select the most appropriate surgical procedure based on the client's current health status. Afterwards, a date for the surgery is scheduled with the personal coordinator, and the client goes through all the necessary pre-surgical tests.

After the operation and a general health assessment, the client is discharged to a home environment as soon as possible. Throughout the recovery period, the client remains in contact with the doctor for any consultations regarding his health and for scheduled check-ups.

Venous surgery

We will provide care also to clients with complicated diagnoses for which conventional therapy under general anaesthesia is not appropriate. All procedures will be performed on an outpatient basis, under local anaesthesia, so patients will be able to get back to their normal activities immediately afterwards. Clients will be served by a team of doctors with international experience in the field, who will perform procedures according to the latest findings and international recommendations.
