One-day surgery in gynecology as a trend of current medicine

Preventive gynaecological examinations are imperative to identifying a number of pathologies with enough time to provide adequate treatment.. If during a preventive cervical examination there is a cause for concern, our CM patients will be recommended for a specialised examination called a colposcopy, in our modernly equipped Cancer Prevention Center (COP) as part of their membership. It is this specialised examination that is ykey in the early diagnosis and treatment of the premalignant stages of cervical cancer.
The holder of a license for this type of specialized examination is Dr. Jiří Chod, Ph.D., who is the chief physician of COP. The examination is also performed by our experienced doctor, Dr. Tereza Čeledová.

In addition to conisation, the modern operating theatres at the Walter clinic are also available for other gynaecological therapeutic and aesthetic surgical procedures in the form of same-day surgery, where a team of experienced surgeons performs a full range of procedures:
- Abortion – termination of the further development of pregnancy by a doctor for medical reasons or at the patient’s request in compliance with the laws of the Czech Republic.
- Revision of the uterine cavity – doctors perform the procedure, for example, after spontaneous termination of pregnancy. The procedure is performed under briefly administered general anaesthesia; discharge is possible in as little as two hours.
- Diagnostic hysteroscopy – examination of the uterine cavity is often performed by doctors simultaneously with collection of a mucosal sample or, as the case may be, with a separate abrasion of the uterine cavity and the cervix. Doctors most commonly perform this procedure in the case of gynaecological bleeding of uncertain origin.
- Operative hysteroscopy – most frequently performed to find a polyp or sub-mucosal myoma, which is subsequently removed. The procedure is recommended by the surgeon after prior consultation with the patient and a gynaecological examination.
- Diagnostic laparoscopy – examination of the organs of the pelvis minor. If signs of disease are detected, the procedure is followed by operative laparoscopy. Most commonly when an ovarian cyst is found.
- Laparoscopic sterilisation – ligation or removal of the fallopian tubes.
- Surgeries on the external genitalia – we offer labiaplasty, i.e. modification of the labia minora, as well as minor procedures such as modifications of poorly healed incisions after childbirth and removal of growths, cysts and condylomas on the external genitalia. We operate on cysts and abscesses of the Bartholin’s glands.

In the case of each of these procedures, the clear advantage for clients is not only complete care under one roof, but also the pleasant environment, all of which alleviates the stress associated with every surgical procedure.
