Preventive check-ups for infants and toddlers during a state of emergency

Dear parents,

We know that many families with small children have left the busy cities for less populated areas in the country due to the current emergency state in our country caused by the outbreak of Covid-19. We would like to inform our parents that although the operations of some individual paediatric clinics may be affected, our regular preventive check-ups for infants and toddlers remains unaffected. The current epidemiological situation does not pose as an obstacle to administering and receiving general vaccinations. An exception to this would be a young patient with family members who are currently in quarantine, or the occurence of more common contraindications such as acute infections or a raised temperature. We are doing our best to enforce the anti-epidemic regime in each of our workplaces, and therefore we have reserved the morning to midday just for the preventive check-ups of infants and toddlers. Consequently, the afternoon is reserved for patients with acute conditions requiring treatment.

We are following the recommendations of the Czech Vaccine Society, which in line with the American CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention), warns that a significant delay in the administration of some vaccines can lead to severe consequences, and may lead to the development of other diseases, in particular measles and whooping cough which can pose a threat to both the lives of adults and children.

We understand and share your concerns for your children, and we want to help you during these difficult times. We are fully at your disposal, and are available during the temporarily adjusted opening hours of our clinics, as well as through telephone consultations.
