Assoc. Prof. Milan Handl, MD, PhD, is a specialist in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal traumatology with extensive clinical and surgical experience. For many years, he worked at the Department of Orthopaedics for Children and Adults, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital in Prague, where he was also involved in academic and teaching activities. He spent seven years working at leading orthopaedic centres in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In his clinical practice, he focuses on both surgical and conservative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Throughout his career, he has performed a large number of orthopaedic procedures, including total joint replacements, ligament reconstructions and arthroscopic procedures on major joints. Cartilage transplantation is one of his key areas of expertise.
Alongside his clinical practice, he has long been involved in teaching medical students and lecturing in the Czech Republic and abroad. He has attended numerous professional fellowships, congresses and educational events in Europe, the USA, Asia, Africa and Australia.
He is a member of major international professional societies, including ESSKA and ISAKOS. In recognition of his work in sports medicine, he was awarded honorary membership of the Czech Olympians Club. He currently works as an orthopaedic specialist at several private clinics.
