Younger, thanks to MICRO-NEEDLINGArticle

A new method for rejuvenating the complexion, which has found worldwide popularity thanks to its results and sensitive approach, is now available in the Czech Republic. This rejuvenating dermatological treatment is known as micro-needling, and has been used by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie. At last year’s Cannes Film Festival the actress caused such a sensation with her youthful appearance that her preference for micro-needling was covered by the Los Angeles Times.
How does micro-needling work?
This is a method during which a high-rotation electrical appliance creates micro-punctures in the complexion using very fine needles, by which the skin absorbs effective rejuvenating substances to a great depth. In addition, the fine perforation of the complexion is very effective in stimulating the regeneration of the skin’s lower layers. After this treatment the complexion begins intensively forming its own collagen and elastin, which substantially reinforces the rejuvenating effect, because the complexion fills itself from within.
The method has excellent aesthetic results, which can be seen immediately after the treatment, though the full regeneration process lasts several months. The resulting effect is similar to treatment by “ablation laser”, but unlike laser treatment the complexion remains undamaged after healing. Micro-needling can be used for treatment of the face, neck, throat and hands, arms and stomach.
What are the advantages of micro-needling?
Treatment by micro-needling provides results comparable with medical deep chemical peeling, laser treatment or dermabrasion. The method considerably reduces or entirely eliminates surface wrinkles, pigment stains and visibility of scars. The complexion is markedly more supple and shiny, pores are closed and the colour of the complexion is harmonised. The technology is also used worldwide for removing striae.
Micro-needling treatment causes no serious damage to the epidermis, as occurs in certain other anti-ageing methods. On the contrary – the complexion is strengthened and the gradual building of collagen and elastin fibres visibly reinforces this. As a result, it is also possible to use the treatment repeatedly. Treatment by micro-needling can also (unlike the aforementioned methods) be applied to all skin types.
What substances are incorporated into the complexion?
The complexion is treated with NANO AGE serum from the Swiss pharmaceutical company ISIS Pharma. The serum contains a high nano-molecular concentration of hyaluronic acid, which is the key to a well hydrated complexion
Is the treatment painful?
Micro-needles are genuinely very fine and the treatment is performed with a high-rotation electrical appliance. In addition, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the complexion before the treatment, so you will feel no pain during the procedure, only a mild pressure.
What does the complexion look like after the treatment?
After the treatment the complexion is reddened, as after extended exposure to sunlight, and a feeling of heat is experienced. Reddening persists from 2 to approximately 72 hours, according to the location and sensitivity of the skin. The internal process of skin renewal however takes place over the course of several months, during which the formation of new collagen takes place within the dermis, and the complexion is increasingly smooth and supple.
What measures must I take after the treatment?
The complexion requires special care after the treatment. Immediately after the treatment, NanoAge hydrating-regenerating serum is applied. Afterwards the skin is treated with another preparation according to the skin type, and washing with water is recommended in the evening. Cosmetics can be used 48 hours after the treatment.
How many treatments are necessary for a satisfactory result?
Depending on your age, the number and depth of wrinkles or scars and the thickness of your skin, it is necessary to undergo a number of micro-needling sessions. Naturally an individual consultation is required. In order to remove wrinkles of superficial and medium depth, two treatments over the course of a few weeks are sufficient, whereas deep wrinkles and scars will generally require more procedures.
