Canadian Medical’s Doctor Receives Prestigious MUDr. František Kölbel Prize
News23. 11. 2017
The 2nd Outpatient Care Conference took place On November 2, 2017 with EUC representing the main partner of the event. The program was divided into five sections totaling 12 professionals as speakers.
Practical medicine and outpatient care
MUDr. Petr Valášek, Ph.D. from Canadian Medical was one of the speakers present at the conference and talked about the differences in primary medical care between the UK and the Czech Republic. He based his comparisons on his 15-year experience of living in the UK where he specialized in research and practical medicine. He said the following to the conference attendees: “I liked the idea of continuity in practical medicine and I could see the effects of my treatment. A five-year post-grad program which I completed aims to equip doctors in such a way that they are able to solve and meet the needs of most patients, therefore lowering the need for more expensive and hospital-based secondary care. This applied to prenatal and palliative care. Much emphasis is placed on communication skills and on the patients’ expectations. You should let the patient speak for a minute. Within this time, the patient usually provides the most important information.”
Prestigious prize for MUDr. Magdalena Kreimová
During the conference, the MUDr. František Kölbel Prize was awarded for exceptional medical contributions at EUC. The highest possible award for doctors and non-medical staff-members of the EUC Group was selected by the EUC board. From the doctors, the prize winner was MUDr. Magdalena Kreimová from Candian Medical who has been working there since 2001. The prize was awarded by MUDr. Barbara Taušová and Václav Vachta, EUC’s Chairman of the board.
Congratulations!
