Methods that we use
The first step to effective therapy rests in timely diagnosis. Our center employs numerous psychological tests and other diagnostic methods which can map various aspects of human psychology. Diagnosis is carried out by colleagues who have many years of experience and knowledge of the methods that are utilized.
Psychiatry is a medical field, which means that care is provided only by a doctor. In addition to an interview and diagnosis itself, a psychiatrist focuses on the use of medication. Psychiatrists frequently focus on more serious psychological problems and personality disorders. Often, psychiatric care is accompanied by psychotherapeutic care. The combination of both approaches usually translates to much better results when compared with medication alone.
Psychotherapy is carried out by a psychotherapist, who is a person trained in psychotherapy. Usually, it is a psychologist or a psychiatrist. However, psychiatric or psychological education is not enough to render psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is usually based on long-term cooperation of the client and therapist and involves deeper self-understanding which then allows for the detection of inner conflicts and destructive patterns of behavior. This in turn allows for changes to take place. Psychotherapy also works with techniques such as therapeutic interviews, imagination, experiential methods and more. There are many branches and approaches within psychotherapy. In our team for example, we work with Gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy, psychoanalysis, couples therapy or person-centered (Rogers) psychotherapy.
Other intervention methods
With certain specific types of problems, we also use other methods of intervention. If required, we also cooperate with a speech therapist, an ergotherapist, neurologist, endocrinologist or a physiotherapist.
Cooperation of the team, comprehensive care
Our Mental Health Center team is composed of experienced psychiatrists and therapists focused on both adults and children. It is composed in such a way that allows us to offer qualified psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assistance in the widest scope possible. If necessary, we also cooperate with a range of other external specialists who can provide further assistance to our team.
