Canadian Medical Opens a New Branch at the Hadovka Summer Residence

28. 03. 2018

9th April 2018, Canadian Medical will open a new branch in Prague 6, located at the Hadovka Summer Residence which used to house the Canadian Embassy. In this exceptionally beautiful building dating back to the 17th century that has undergone an extensive reconstruction, clients will be able to enjoy an unrivalled historical experience.

Canadian Medical is expanding its capacity in Prague 6 which is an essential step for the private medical facility. Establishing a new branch represents a sense of continuation to its historical presence at the Veleslavín Chateau where many of our foreign guests appreciated the non-traditional setting and the historical aspect which is undeniably a part of Prague itself.

Our outpatient practices will offer medical services of general practitioners as well as pediatrics, gynecology, rehabilitation medicine, physiotherapy, dermatology, psychology and psychiatry.

The leased parts of the property will provide space for 6 practices. Their reconstruction and renovation required intense cooperation with the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ) because the entire property is considered a protected landmark. The leased property meets and exceeds the requirements for the outpatient services that are provided.

The summer residence began its rich history around the year 1800 when the original building was turned into a summer residence. In 1859, from its original late Baroque style, it changed appearance in then fashionable neo-Gothic style based on the project of Professor Josef Niklas. Unfortunately, a part of the west wing was demolished during this process resulting in a non-symmetrical shape. By the end of the 19th century, the estate saw the construction of a chapel and the chateau served as the summer residence of the St. Vitus Provosts. Further extensive reconstruction took place in 1930 when Zdenka Havránková purchased it from the City of Prague. From 1948, Hadovka housed the Canadian Embassy. 2013 saw the establishment of Open Gate, a private educational facility. Canadian Medical began using the property in 2017.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new branch.
